January 15th, 2026 Update: Last Round of TCHP

January 15th, 2026 Update

“How’s her prognosis?”

I get this question a lot.

Probably because it might be awkward to ask Erin. Or maybe because asking the obvious question — “What’s the survival rate?” — is too raw, too real.

So I field it the best I can.

I usually say, “Good! It’s responding well.”

And I mean it. Because it is.

From our first diagnosis at 7:00pm on a Wednesday night — from a stupid medical records app — we were confident.

You will not die from this.

No chance.

It wasn’t just our resolve. It was a deep knowing from the Lord. A rock. A truth. *The* truth.

And to this point, a few months later, all of it is true.

After 1 round of treatment, the tumor was half the size.

After 3 rounds of treatment, the tumor was unmeasurable.

The tumor did not reach the lymph nodes.

And now, after 6 rounds of treatment, we are believing for **pCR (pathological complete response)**, which we will find out from the surgery on February 5th.

The targeted immunotherapies for HER2+ cancer are amazing.

The likelihood of recurrence, assuming pCR is reached, is lower than — or the same as — someone who has never had cancer before.

So yes, the prognosis is good.

And it’s hard to tell people that, because the journey is long, and difficult, and not over.

And people usually say things are “good” even when they aren’t.

But in our case, the Lord is good.

The prognosis is good.

And surprisingly, we are good.

What’s left?

Six rounds of TCHP are complete today.

Twelve more rounds of the HP targeted therapy will continue every three weeks.

Surgery is February 5th.

Radiation will happen sometime in April.

And through it all, we are good — because the Lord is.
